Student Recordings
| This 2011 Christmas album is the result of an optional field trip to Blast House Studios in Madison. Weeks in advance of the trip, students selected and rehearsed their selections. Performances include solo piano, solo guitar, guitar and vocals. One student even slung a harmonica around his neck! Students sat in the control room after their sessions to watch the engineer add a little reverb and adjust levels to their tracks. Great Work, Everyone! |
| Here are just a few samples of student work. These recordings represent not only the hard work students put into their music but also the broad range of styles that Big Time Music's teachers appreciate and accommodate. The purpose of this page is not to post the work of all students nor is it to highlight only the work of more advanced players but to share a range of styles, instruments, and ages. All the recordings are made with one stereo track in real time; in other words, vocal tracks, solos, and rhythm guitar parts are not recorded separately and then recombined and mixed. You can also try visiting www.bigtimemusic.org/recordings. All recordings are made and edited by Mark Olson, head of the guitar department at Big Time Music. Recordings are made from time to time to document student progress, to help define goals, and to have fun. It is our goal to capture a few more piano student samples in the near future. Big Time Music owns the recordings and the copyrights. |
